  “Guns4Roses was easy to love, too,” Safire said, smiling. “And well, Gunner, he’s a little more difficult, except when he’s horizontal.”

  A wide grin cocked Gunner’s mouth and he picked her up, swinging her around. “I’ll stay horizontal as long as you need.”

  Her lips pressed onto his as he brought her into her bedroom. He’d been given a second chance, a precious treasure, and he wasn’t going to mess it up.

  They settled on her bed, and he rained kisses all over his sweetheart. He couldn’t get enough of her, the softness of her skin, her sweet, flowery scent, the stiffness of her hair on the almost shaved side, and the silkiness on the long side.

  She was hungry too, greedily so. Her lips caressed his, and her tongue spiked his arousal. But this feeling inside was more than physical. He felt it deep in his heart, an expanding, pounding and growing sensation, that of love blooming and flowering in his chest.

  “We’re in a relationship, right?” He had to check before they went further.

  “In the real world or virtual world?” She pecked on his lips. “Both. I don’t want anyone but you, and I’m hoping you feel the same way.”

  “I do. Let me make love to you, Safire. Let me be the one you turn to.”

  “You are, Gunner. You’re my top gun, my only one.” She embraced him with both her arms and legs.

  “Except. Duh! I don’t have a condom in this stupid hunter’s outfit.” He hastily checked the pockets, even though they were empty. “But that’s okay. I’m the master of foreplay.”

  “I didn’t tell you, but I’m on the Pill.” Safire grinned, a little shy with her eyes cast down. “It’s to regulate my cycle, not that I’m doing anything with anyone. I haven’t dated in over a year.”

  His dick jumped to attention at her words. He’d never had the pleasure of going bare, but if this was the benefit of a committed, exclusive relationship, hell yeah, he was ready.

  “I tested clean a month ago, and I haven’t had relations with anyone for six months.” He offered his enticement to her.

  “I’m clean, too.”

  “So … does that mean?” He licked his lips and swept her bangs aside, staring into her coal-black eyes.

  She nodded, a faint smile gracing her lips. “I trust you, Gunner. I know it’s fast, but I feel like I’ve known you for a long time.”

  “Maybe because we have back on Planet Wargames. I want to know you more. Every bit of you, what makes you tick, what you like, dislike.”

  Their clothes practically flew off their bodies as their hands went everywhere, touching, feeling, caressing, stroking.

  Safire moved her hand over his pulsing cock, and he was a goner. She was soaking wet, tight, but so luscious. He sampled her heat with his fingers, but his cock couldn’t wait to slip in and feel her close around him like a glove.

  He covered her, holding his weight over her supple body as she opened her legs and arched her back. In one smooth motion, he glided in and moaned loud and long at the exquisite sensation. There was no barrier between them—no way closer for a man to be with a woman.

Gunner gritted his teeth, trying not to come apart, willing himself to give her one more stroke, and then another, and another, massaging and caressing her, urging her on, long and slow.

  Her breathing sped into gasps, and she opened her eyes, staring straight up at him. Her fingers closed around his hips and she dug in her nails prodding him to move faster, pound harder.

  He locked his lips over hers and kissed her like mad. She wrapped her legs around him and bumped herself up against him. All control broke loose. Gunner’s body went wild as he thrust hard into her, ripping urgent moans from her. He moved faster and prayed she’d go with him.

  Fire flashed over his entire body, starting from his cock buried deep inside her, splitting her apart, loving her, moving her up the rail of pleasure.

  Her name was on his lips, “Safire, Sa-fire, fire … come for me, babe.”

  “Oh, Gunner. I love you, so much.” She cried out as her orgasm quaked and pulsed, squeezing the life out of him and milking the most explosive climax he’d ever experienced.

  “I love you too, babe.” He rasped as he shot into her, and he wrapped her into his arms, tucking her against his chest.

  I’m Clarissa and I can’t believe my sister Safire could believe I would have thrown her under the bus. Really!

  I was the one who never went to college so I could make money and send her and Gianna to college. I struggled to be an agent and publicist, cold calling celebrities and athletes. I hung out at gyms, ice rinks, stadiums, and bars to find my clients, gathering them one by one.

  Believe me, it wasn’t easy for a nineteen-year-old Asian woman to start my own business while my mother and two sisters depended on me.

  Of course, now that the facts have come to light, she and Gunner are suitably apologetic.

  Safire stands in front of me, wringing her hands, while her face is glowing from the hot sex I can scent infusing her balmy apartment.

  “We figured it was because you hacked Jake’s account, or you claimed to,” she says.

  I cross my arms and stare at them, glad that I interrupted a marathon love scene.

  “I never intended to hack Jake’s account. It was a test for Gunner. Yeah, you.” I drill the big lug with a sharp glare. “I wanted to see if you were truly good enough for my sister. I knew you had a crush on her the minute you stepped into my office and asked me to be your publicist. All you did was stare at her picture and ask me questions about her.”

  “You set this up as a test? That’s so underhanded,” Safire protests. “You could have gotten a lot of people hurt, like Jake, for example.”

  “I never meant for it to get that far. I didn’t know Stacy would send an email to Dex.”

  “I can’t believe it’s Stacy,” Safire says “I didn’t think she was smart enough to hack into the code base. How did she find out what you and Gunner were planning to do with Jake’s account?”

  “She overheard me and Gunner discussing it at Nightcaps,” I’m forced to admit. “As soon as Dex caught her, she tried to pass the blame off on me, saying I purposely spoke so loudly about the plot to entrap her.”

  “Is that what it was about?” Safire’s not thinking straight, given the sexual cocktail she just indulged in.

  Guess, I wouldn’t either if I had a hot football player in my bed and my sister was standing there telling me all this convoluted mess.

  “Of course not,” I explain as patiently as I can. “She saw an opportunity to further her vendetta against you for getting her demoted.”

  “She was the one who left the security hole, not to mention she pirated the code to get me in trouble,” Safire’s voice rises to a shriek.

  “All true.” I know they’re both curious about who Fire_Hunter is and why she did what she did, but truly, they want me gone so they can go back to exploring the joys of sex and making love. “If you have any other questions, you know who to call. Gunner? Am I back as your publicist? Dex Remington wants to thank you for putting on the sting and trapping Fire_Hunter. He’s offering you a spot on the Planet Wargames World Tour with Jake and Safire.”

  Gunner gives me a thumbs up and nods. “You’re on again. Thanks.”

  “Great,” I reply. “We’re framing this as a Romeo and Juliet story in the virtual game world.”

  “Wait, I think you have your metaphors wrong.” Safire taps my arm and guides me toward the door. She’s dying to
get back on her ride with Gunner.

  “Sure, I do. The blush is off the rose. You two carry on.” I back toward the door and wave.

  “Wrong again,” Gunner says, kissing my little sister, lusciously on the lips. “The blush is always on the rose, and the Safire’s always in my heart.”
